The United States of America, also known as America, U.S., and The United States, is a nation primarily located in North America, consisting of 50 states, a federal district, five major self-governing territories, and various possessions. With a population of over 333 million, it is the third most populous country in the world. The national capital is Washington, D.C., and the most populous city is New York City.
The three branches of the Federal Government of the United States consists of the Legislative - the bicameral United States Congress of the House of Representatives and the Senate - the Executive - The President of the United States and the Cabinet of the United States - and the Judiciary - The Supreme Court of the United States.
