The Scottish Parliament is the unicameral legislature of Scotland. The Parliament is a democratically elected body comprising of 5/6 members known as Members of the Scottish Parliament (MSPs) elected within the Westminister General Elections and from House of Lord selections with each member located within a region of Scotland.
On the 14th of February 2020, Westminister provided devolved powers alongside the initial concept of the Scottish Parliament through the passing of the 'Scotland Act' proposed by John Trevorson and the 'Scotland Act Amendment §1.11 - §1.12' proposed by Liam MacDonald. The structure of the Scottish Parliament was fully founded through the 'Establishment of the Scottish Parliament 2020' proposed by the inaugural First Minister, Mairi Gougeon.
Powers devolved to the Scottish Parliament include all areas except for the Defence of the people, Foreign affairs and Taxation.
Currently, as the Scottish Parliament has no current building to reside, the Parliament will be convened as a sub-section of Westminister. Bills proposed to the Scottish Parliament can only be voted by MSPs. MSPs hold two respective positions and will perform their duties and roles within Westminister whilst representing the Scottish interests within both bodies.
