The Scottish Green Party is a Scottish political party which currently has one member of Parliament. The party work towards a non-violent, democratic, just, and sustainable society free from capitalism. The party is left-wing leaning with many members holding socialist beliefs.

The Scottish Greens are only the second party to support Scottish Independence along with The Scottish National Party, however, the two parties do not share a platform on the matter as the Greens host their own "Green Yes" campaign.

Although a seperate party the Scottish Greens still closely align with their sister party The Green Party of England and Wales.

Greens at Westminster[]

The Scottish Green Party have been represented at westminster for over 12 elections, with Robin Harper originally being elected as the MP for Livingston (as an Independent) in October 2020.

The Greens peaked with 5 MPs in January 2021 with Members being sent from the North and South West Scotland.

The Scottish Greens are members of the People First Coalition which has seen them take on Government roles since the first Gougeon administration. As Joint Secretaries of State for Health and Social Care Robin Harper and Frances Curran redeveloped the United Kingdom's Drug Strategy.

Greens at Holyrood[]

The Scottish Greens currently hold one seat in Holyrood and hold one Cabinet Position as the minister for Environment and Climate Change.
