Pádraigín Ó Dubhthaigh is a politician and Member of Parliament representing Northern Ireland, as well as former Leader of Sinn Féin. After an extremely close race in the 49th general election against incumbent Labour MP George Stevens, and prior to winning the 15 January general election for the seat in Northern Ireland, Ó Dubhthaigh served in the House of Lords. He lost his seat in Parliament to Labour challenger Eliza MacNamara, who defeated him in every subsequent election until the 65th general election on 29 April 2020, when he regained his seat. Ó Dubhthaigh is an Irish nationalist and democratic socialist.
