The French Communist Party (French: Parti Communiste Français) is a left-wing to far-left political party in France. Its main platform is the destruction of the French state and its subsequent replacement with individual collectivist, worker-owned communes. It holds a majority in the National Assembly, with 280 seats.
Electoral History[]
The French Communist Party is centered around the outer regions of France. It has almost complete control of the southern regions and is widely popular in the East, particularly Burgundy-Franche Comte and the Alpine/Savoy Regions. It competes with The Republic Forwards! (French: La République En Marche!) in Paris and its suburbs, with the capital city often swinging between the two. The party generally does not face success, however, in the northeastern parts of France or in Central France.
Alliance[]
The French Communist Party is a stout ally of Unbowed France (French: La France Insoumise) an ecosocialist, leftist party active in Normandy and central France. They also have an electoral alliance with Democratic Movement (French: Mouvement démocratique) a slightly left-of-centre, moderate party active in Paris, for presidential elections.
