The Forty Sixth United Kingdom general election was held on the 18 December 2019 to elect 36 members to the House of Commons. This election saw a relatively large dynamic in seat changes, with the Labour Party being just short of a majority government hence taking the form of a minority government.

The Liberal Democrats managed to overtake the Conservative Party in seats due to the minor rise in seats from the Liberal Democrats and the loss of seats from the Conservatives which totaled to a substantial loss as a result.

The Scottish National Party maintained two seats within the House of Commons and attempted to reach three, however the Liberal Democrat and former SNP Leader Cato the Younger managed to attain his seat within Eastern Scotland despite the amount of effort placed upon the seat by the SNP.

Plaid Cymru's previous candidate for West Wales Marged Davies did not announce her return to the seat, resulting in a loss for the party. It's predicted that the seat taken over by Labour in the next election.

In Northern Ireland, the Democratic Unionist Party made no attempts to run within the region, due to many terms of drastic numbers in comparison to the opposing party Sinn Féin has not recently been capable of gaining a seat in the region until this General Election. Despite the DUP not running, Sinn Féin still struggled to ultimately achieve the seat and lost to Labour MP Cara Emma Bailey.

The minority party, the British Syndicalist League attained their seat in South Manchester.

A new minority party emerged during this election as the Anglican Order achieved their first seat in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.

The UK Independence Party did not manage to gain any seats after a defeat in both West London and Dorset, Gloucs and Wiltshire by the Labour Party.
